So, I have finally moved to Clintonville. We have everything here and most of it is unpacked, but there are still quite a few boxes lying about. School is going alright this quarter I am learning how to use a couple of Engineering programs and haven't gotten too lost yet. However, I am not sure of what I am doing 100% of the time.
I am planning on painting a picture for the fake fireplace's mantle in our new place. I was thinking of a giant happy octopus...we'll see how that turns out. The main reason is that the artwork I have up on the mantle right now was done by a friend of mine but Josh and Matt don't seem to like the painting at all. Maybe it's because it doesn't really look like anything, but it is supposedly a ship and a genie. I just put it up so there was color in the room.

I can't wait to move in a couple of months! I am tired of this apartment and the ridiculously noisy neighbors. I have decided that I want to move to Clintonville and potentially rent a duplex. Clintonville is such a hippie place but I really love it. Hopefully it will work out! Tomorrow is my first day back to school. I have decided to go back and get my undergrad (#2) in Electrical Engineering from the Ohio State University. I am taking only two classes this summer because they are required before I can apply to my major, Chemistry 121 and Math 151. I am both excited and nervous about starting over but at least I have a better idea of what I want to accomplish while I am in school. I definitly think there will be a study abroad and a couple of internships or co-ops. Wish me luck!

So I haven't posted in a long time....here it goes....
I have decided to go back to school. I am going to go to Centrl Ohio Technical College in the fall for my Certification in CAD. This will be helpful in my quest to receive my master's in Architecture from the Knowlton College of Architecture at the Ohio State University. I still have to take the GRE and hopefully score high and also find three peope to write references.....so lots to do by November 2008.
Last night I had an indoor soccer match. I play fullback for a team that was put together by Fado's, a pub I like to frequent. Anyhow, we have lost every game we have played except for the first one and that was because the other team forfeit. Last night was a great match because we lost 3-7, usually the other team exceeds 10. I however took a shot straight to the face...I forgot how awful that feels. When I came back in I was trying to defend our goal and ended up missing the ball and hitting some girl right in the ankle. She said she thought it was broken, but I think it was probably just a sprain. It didn't look very swollen when they took her off the field. It made me feel bad and kind of like a bad ass at the same time.
Today, I accepted a job going back to Starbucks, but it is at the first store I worked at, not ghetto starbucks in Macy's. I still hate that store. So I am very excited about going back and this job will also give me enough flexibility to go back to school. It looks like things are looking up...

So as you know the scary place I mentioned last post is the place where I do my Americorps*VISTA volunteering. I have been at it a month and a half now and have realized something. I don't think I am doing what the VISTA's mission is; I am supposed to be stopping poverty and finding solutions to issues related to low-income neighborhoods. What have I done so far? To sum it up quickly, "I've been a secretary."
"Your duties cannot supplant those of paid staff or existing volunteers." (We had a secretary who went back to high school so I have done the work she didn't do properly because she was on Myspace all the time. Sad thing is they paid her more than me, because I am a "volunteer." Anyhow, according to Americorps they should hire another secretary, not give me the work.)
"AmeriCorps*VISTA achieves its mission by assigning members to sponsoring organizations to expand the ability of those organizations to fight poverty. AmeriCorps*VISTA members mobilize community resources, engage individuals in local community service, and increase the capacity of organizations to manage effective anti-poverty programs." (I am in charge of organizing two fundraisers but they are far apart so I have a lot of down time. I wish I had more guidance and training, which they failed to give me even though it is part of the whole program.)
I don't know what to do. If I wanted to be a secretary/personal assistant, I would find a job that pays more than about $3.50 an hour. On the other hand if they didn't give me that stuff to do I would be sitting here doing nothing half the time. I am thinking about seeing if I can transfer to another project preferable something other than VISTA because I am leaning towards the more "hands-on" projects.
I want to make a change but I don't think it will happen filing papers and answering the telephone.
Is it bad that I am complaining about volunteering?

Well, I haven't put a new post on my livejournal in a long time, so here it comes... I graduated back in march from OSU and I am still looking for a job. I have just applied for a position at COSI and would really love to get a job there. I could always join the Peace Corps if nothing turns up in the next few months. Some days I just want to leave and go to Europe...or maybe somewhere over in the New England states... I really just don't know what I want to do and that is the source of my problem. Why did I major in International Business Administration?? What can I do with that again?? I should have asked myself these questions a long time ago and realized that not having an answer to them should be a sign to find another major. Ho hum.... In other work related news, I am up for my 6 month review at Starbucks. This means that I will be getting a raise and I will have the freedom of getting away from the store I currently work at and transfer to anywhere else. I can't stand it there still. Creepy Stalker guy and myself have to work together most every night and it is not fun. So I can't wait to be free.....yay.

Well, I was looking at facebook today and started to feel a bit down. All my friends that live back in z-ville are on there and I never get to see any of them. I miss them a lot and wished that I wasn't such a hermit most days. I miss them all and would like it if they came and visited but they are all busy with their lives...

Well, The OSU Buckeyes lost in the BCS game against the Florida Gators....*sigh* I only got to watch two games the whole season and that was one of them. Oh well, I am not upset just disappointed in my school's football team.
Well, it is back to school at this is my last quarter!!!! I got an e-mail today about graduation and all the things I need to do. I am excited that I am almost finished but now what do I do? I would love to just move to the UK or France or anywhere out of the USA for a few years and work. I think it would be a fun and interesting life experience. Perhaps I will work for the UN and travel to different ares of the globe. All I know is that I will have a BA in International Business from the Fisher College of Business, and I should be graduation cum laude, so that should look good to potential employers, right? SO many decisions....WHAT TO DO? WHAT TO DO?
Classes are going alright so far and hopefully they will continue on that way....
So far 2007 has been uneventful but nice. Starbucks calmed down so work isn't nearly as stressful as it used to be. Hopefully I can finally get people to start using the proper standards and procedures, and maybe even mark the cups correctly...oh to be a dreamer....

"Thank you Mr. Gibbons, it was purrrr-fect!"
Needless to say I had some of my grand-pa's eggnog/ whiskey and I thought the aforementioned sentenced was uttered by my brother. In actuality it wasn't....surprising, eh? Truthfully, I have no idea what he actually said I just know that he really did say "purrrr-fect" for some reason.
I had a great Christmas this year. We sat around opened presents, had good food, and played games. I love my family!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!!

Since the last two posts have been about what I have seen driving about Columbus, I thought I would post another.
Today on my way home from my International Finance 725 class, it was preparing to rain. It was weird though because it was dark and gloomy but the sky ahead was cloudy and bright. I reminded me of those old black and white movies where they obviously filmed outside during the day but change the look so it appears like it is night. I guess it is called "day-for-night" as Josh has informed me. I have only seen it in a few movies which happened to all be Sci-Fi movies.....hmmm......Anyhow, if I looked in my review mirror, it looked very appropriate; dark and cloudy.
I did watch a great movie called "Serenity" based of the tv series "Firefly." I recommend watching both and believe that they should bring back the show. Stupid FOX and their cancelling of tv programs....
Happy 23rd Birthday to me!!! Happy Birthday to my Sittee too!

As I was driving home from a long morning working at Starbucks, I saw a peculiar sight on the other side. Now it has nothing to do with the return of the I-270 shooter, which I had forgotten all bout until just now when I was typing, but with a car.
There were police cars and a Fire truck on the scene because the car was emitting large clouds of smoke. Apparenty, from the looks of the car on the side of the road, it had been engulfed in flames not too long ago. This is probably the 3rd time I have seen the burnt remains of a car along the road, once on Route 70 and twice now on I-270.
The first time I saw such a sight on I-270, the car was actually on fire. I can't descirbe such a sight but it is weird and amazing. The whole car was a ball of flames and there weren't any firemen or police officers there yet. The traffic I was in was on the otherside of I-270, but it slowed down because everyone was looking at the car, and I can't blame them. It was one of those "Wish I had a Camera" moments.

Today was one of those days that I wish I had a camera besides the one on my phone and more time to waste.
I left my apartment close to 3o mins before class, so I was in a bit of a hurry. As I was driving my normal route I noticed that traffic was backed up on one of the overpasses and police lights could be seen further down flashing. I hadn't heard anything on the radio about an accident when I saw what the commotion was all about. Elephants.
There was a line of elephants tromping down on side of the road. They had their pretty circus attire on their heads. It was just something I was not expecting to see in the downtown area of Columbus, Ohio......the Africa or Asia, yes, in Ohio, no. There were cars stopped and you could see people hanging out their windows on the othert side of that street watching the elephants, which made me smile. It isn't everyday you get to see a group of elephants parading through town.
On another note I have two finals and a UN discussion to go and then the quarter is over with. One more quarter to go..... Hooray Graduation!

OH what a week so far! I took a test earlier in a class that is really easy, but it was hard. The professor has been sick the last few classes and he usually does a review before the test, but noe of that happened so I just had to hope what I remembered reading was on the test. Needless to say, I am not too sure on how I did. Hooray for midterms!!
Little Quinn, the cat, is really sweet lately. She cuddled with me as I did some last minute studying this morning before my test. We also played hide and seek for a bit before Josh came over to study.
Josh came up today for some quiet studying time. It looks like the situation with his cousin isn't going so well. It just amazs me how inconciderate and selfish his cousin can be. If I go over there and his cousin is there, I am going to have a talk with him...what can I say I wory about Josh.
The work situation sucks so far. I work at the dingy basement version of a starbucks. It is disasterous. They aren't following standards very well and the majority of people are middle aged women who I have nothing in common with. The few people my age are guys, one was kicked out of OSU and is trying to re-apply, while the other guy reminds me of the kind of character you would use to portray a serial killer.... he creeps the hell out of me and I don't want to work with him alone...EVER!!! I used to love my job, but I think it was mainly because of the people I worked with. I would rather work with the people at the z-ville starbucks...there are some cool kids there.
Oh well, I have to work day number two at my new location. Who knows, maybe I can get them to transfer me to a closer location...
(by the way MF Grape Soda is an actual drink made by Jones Soda....tastes like a kids grape cough medicine without the after taste!)

Well, I have moved back to Reynoldsburg. I just got the internet Thursday. SInce I live alone I will probably start updating again woo hoo.
The most I have to say is that I am sick and I think I have a fever. I am not sure because I do not have a thermometer...but I feel like I do.
Midterms....blah! I have one due on Tuesday about the UN and their Millenium Development Goals...I know terribly exciting!

Quick question..... Is it bad that I am already thinking of going back to school for a different degree and I haven't graduated yet? I know I don't like my major but, maybe I should give it a chance?
